  BioPacificVentures covers the spectrum from agriculture to food to health & wellness, but within that field our interest is in opportunities rich in intellectual property. It’s the innovation that counts for us, not production or supply or bricks & mortar assets. Innovations have no distance barrier in getting from Australia & New Zealand to the rest of the world, and innovations can scale far more easily to meet global markets.

  It is personally important to us that our efforts address major unmet needs in global markets. Every member of our team revels in bridging new products & technologies into those markets and in providing significant returns for our investors and lasting satisfaction for our entrepreneurs and founders.

  We are interested in agritechnologies, plant & animal health products, new crops, improved water management, foods or food ingredients, innovations in processing, packaging and supply chain technologies, food safety and food security, healthy lifestyle innovations, health-oriented IT products & medical devices aimed at health management or disease prevention. We are also interested in any new approaches to the prevention or management of the chronic diseases of our times such as diabetes, obesity, asthma and allergies.

  We also have an extra special interest in the interface between food and health. This is not just personal – it’s a huge mega-trend. Hospital-based healthcare is becoming unaffordable by Governments or employers around the world, and ordinary people are taking more and more responsibility for their long-term health. And nearly all of those new approaches to health involve food in some form – functional foods, healthy eating, nutraceuticals, novel ingredients, bioactives, etcetera. This focus gives us special interest in medical foods, foods for the young and the old and sports nutrition, as well as products affecting outer health such as cosmeceuticals, hair & skin care and anything affecting health & wellness.
